Family Fun Day Brings Families Together Across YMCA of the Suncoast

The YMCA of the Suncoast locations across Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties came alive with energy, laughter and connection during Family Fun Day, a community-focused event designed to bring families together and showcase all the ways the Y supports healthy routines at home. Branches across the association hosted this exciting event throughout the month, bringing in elements and programs that reflect each community they serve.

Incorporating elements of the Y’s national Healthy Kids Day initiative, the event focused on helping families discover simple, fun and meaningful ways to stay active, connected and engaged together. From the moment families arrived, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Kids explored interactive activities, games and hands-on experiences designed to keep them moving and having fun, while parents connected with staff and learned more about YMCA programs that support youth development, healthy living and family well-being. Whether trying a new activity, spending time outdoors or simply enjoying the day together, families experienced firsthand how the Y can be part of their everyday lives.

“Family Fun Day is a great example of how the Y brings people together while helping families build healthy habits in a way that feels fun and accessible,” said Michael Whitten. “It’s about showing families that wellness doesn’t have to be complicated.
