At the Y, youth and teen fitness is about more than exercise. It is about creating a positive and supportive environment where kids and teens can grow, connect and thrive. Our programs are designed to meet every participant where they are, whether they are just getting started or already active.
Ages 9 & Younger?
- For safety reasons, is NOT permitted to use the Wellness Center.
- Family-specifc class formats only.
- Direct supervision of parent/guardian required.
- Children of any age are not permitted to sit on the side or in the back of any group fitness class.
What Can My 10-11 Year-Old Do?
- May use cardio machines and select weight machines with direct supervision of parent/guardian (18+).
- Can attend all non-weight based classes with direct supervision of parent/guardian (18+)
- Can attend cycling if the child properly fits on the bike (at instructor's discretion).
With guidance from trained staff, participants build confidence while staying active in a safe and encouraging space.
What Can My 12-14 Year-Old Do?
- May use cardio machines and select weight machines independently.
- May use plate-loaded and free weights with direct supervision of parent/guardian (18+).
- Can attend any class with direct supervision of a parent/guardian (18+).
- Can attend cycling if the child properly fits on the bike (at instructor's discretion).
